SAA-uk's MUSIC & DANCE DEVELOPMENT FUND
Calling for your support!!! - Give a little, gain a lot...
Each year, SAA-uk runs a Community Summer School that provides positive engagement through the arts for children, young people and adults.
We need your help to raise £7,000 per year so that we can run this year's Summer School, which will be taking place from 7th to 14th August 2010 at GNNSJ Sikh Temple in Beeston, Leeds. The funds will also go towards the running of evening classes throughout the year.
- Through SAA-uk's Summer School, children, young people and adults have the opportunity to begin or further develop their musical journey. We offer Classical (Raag based) Music training in Vocals (including Gurbani), Sitar, Santoor and Tabla.
Why?
So the participants can develop their confidence and pride through culturally relevant activities, enabling them to participate in their own community's activities.
Plus, through developing skills in team work, creative thinking and presentation they can confidently make a positive contribution to society and their personal career.
- The funds will help to provide bursaries and subsidies for participants who are less fortunate.
